Newspaper: The Muchin Pawprint
This course will allow students an opportunity to explore journalism through print as well as multimedia. Students will write 1-2 stories, either news-based or opinion, to be printed in the school newspaper. Students will also learn to operate a computer journalism program and website as well as dabble in photojournalism by taking pictures to accompany stories.
Stories may be written in collaboration with a partner or group or they may be individual efforts. Each student will delve into their personal interests and beliefs, learning to create compelling text around their ideas. Pawprint will model professional and college newspapers, which students will read in class, choosing their content based on example and interest. Students with photography, art, and media interests are encouraged to join.
This course meets Thursdays between 5 and 6pm.
